Patriotic Festival Schedule 2022

8:00am - FUN Run 1K 8:20am - RUN, White & Blue 5K

Come out for Bastrop's 6th Annual RUN, White & Blue 5k!!! This course is now a Certified 5K Course! Bring the family, this is an all-ages event! You can run, walk, or skip as you cross the finish line! Be sure you wear your favorite Patriotic Festival attire and come ready for fun! Register by June 18th and you are guaranteed this year's race shirt!

12:00 Noon - Park Opens for a day full of free, family friendly activities in celebration of July 4t

12:00 Noon to 11:00pm - Shuttle Bus Service (NOW w/ Air Conditioning) from Bastrop Convention Center

Why walk all that way to your car? Let us Shuttle you in our yellow school buses right to where all the action is! Free Shuttle all day long! Shuttle Bus Route for Patriotic Festival 

12:00 Noon to 5:00pm - Petting Zoo located in lower landing toward Colorado River launch ramp

We are proud to have Davenport Farms out of Lockhart with us again this year! They will have a real farm experience with us! With a minimum of 20 animals, your child will be able to touch, hugs, and pet goats, sheep, potbelly pigs, chickens, and rabbits.

12:00 Noon to 4:00pm - Shelter Animals for adoption / located in lower landing toward Colorado River

Come visit with pets available for adoption from the Bastrop County Animal Shelter and Saving Angels.

12:00 Noon to 5:00pm - Dunk Tank with local celebrities

Who doesn't love a dunk tank? How about one with our Superintendent, Police Chief, Mayor Pro Tem, or Baseball Coach? Make a donation to We Believe in BISD and you have an opportunity to "dunk" someone and give to a great cause!!!

12:00 Noon to 8:00pm - Water Wonderland (wristbands $15)

Have your kids been begging you to take them to Schlitterbahn? Well, for the purchase of a wristband they will have all-day access to multiple water slides of all kinds! Come cool off and find some adventure in our Water Wonderland! Be sure to bring your water shoes & sunscreen!

12:00 Noon to 8:00pm - Kiddie Train Rides with line up on Willow St and traveling around the Park

ALL ABOARD! Want to see the whole festival in one trip? Load up on the Kiddie Train to have a free trip around the park! All ages welcome! 

12:00 Noon to 8:00pm / Shopping Tent in the Food Court

While the kids are in the Water Wonderland, shop the many vendor booths on display. There will also be booths with other local community information you will want to know!

12:00 Noon to 9:00pm - Food Court Open

From snow cones to hot dogs to turkey legs, you're sure to find something for every appetite!

12:30pm to 1:30pm - Exercise Demonstration / Main Stage

Kidsrockinmom (KRM) will host a free, family-friendly 30 minute workout for all ages and abilities in our community. This will be an upbeat, mixed cardio workout with light stretching and will include beginner, intermediate, and advanced options for each exercise. No equipment or experience required. Bring a friend or family member! 

1:00pm to 5:00pm - Face Painting / Children's Area

Come out and get in the patriotic spirit with your face painted in red, white, & blue themes. It is FREE and just one more fun activity for kids at the Patriotic Festival.

1:30pm to 3:30pm - Baskets with the Bastrop Police Dept / Upper basketball courts near Splash Pad

Ever want to see if you can out-shoot hoops against a Police Officer? This is your chance to hit the court, a basketball court that is, and test your skills against Bastrop's finest!

2:00pm to 4:30pm - FOOD EATING CONTESTS under Main Pavilion

2:00pm - Jalapeno Eating Contest sponsored by Whataburger

Come out and show up how many Whataburger Hot Peppers you can eat! They have milk to cool your mouth after and prizes for the winner!


3:00pm - Pie Eating Contest sponsored by Maxine's Cafe & Bakery 

Only in Bastrop can you enter a pie-eating contest sponsored by the Award-WINNING Maxine's Café & Bakery! Their pies are so good, it won't matter if you win, you'll be excited just to be one of the 10 participating!


4:00pm - Hot Dog Eating Contest sponsored by Scream Hollow Wicked Halloween Park

Hungry? Nothing more American than Hot Dogs to celebrate America's birthday! Come be a true patriot and demonstrate how well you can eat a true American Classic! You might even see some American-style zombies!


2:00pm to 4:00pm - Sand Volleyball games / Food Court

Do you love volleyball? We will have the courts opened and ready for players! Get a team or just bring yourself, and let's play some volleyball!

2:00pm to 6:00pm - Patriotic Stilt Walkers all around the Park

One of the favorite attractions at our event is the Stilt Walker. Come out to Fisherman's Park and see an Uncle Sam up high in the air on stilts walking around greeting all the kids! 

2:00pm to 4:00pm - Cow Patty BINGO / lower basketball courts - sponsored by First National Bank

This is going to be the highlight of the year! Buy a $10 spot (6 for $50) for a chance to win a HUGE prize based on where the patty lands. Fun starts on the tennis courts around 2pm and ends when the patty lands! Where will the 'patty' land? Come out and watch!

2:30pm to 3:00pm - Guns 'n Hoses / Upper Basketball Court

Come watch the tug of war battle between Law Enforcement and Firefighters!

3:30pm to 4:30pm - Falconry Demonstration / Main Stage

Watch out for the raptors and birds of prey as they spread their wings and join the crowds!  Presented by Kevin Gaines with SkyKings Falconry.

5:00pm to 6:00pm - Skate Park Exhibition (NEW this year)

Last year, the skate park was under construction. Now it is open and ready for skaters! If you love the sport, come out and watch the BEST of the BEST local skaters due their stuff on Bastrop's own skate park landscape! 

5:15pm to 6:45pm - Live Music / Main Stage

7:00pm - Presentation of Colors and Remarks from Mayor Connie Schroeder

7:15pm to 9:00pm - MORE LIVE MUSIC / Main Stage

Performance by Joel Hernandez

8:55pm to 9:15pm - Patriotic Medley / Main Stage

Our friends from Bastrop Christian Church and First Baptist Church who make up a portion of "A Joyous Christmas" choir will be center stage performing a medley of patriotic music and end with the National Anthem just before the fireworks. This is a choir and performance you do not want to miss!
